Matar Stuffed Medu Vada | Green Peas Medu Vada
Ingredients:
For Stuffing:
2 cups Pre-cooked Matar
(Green Peas)
1 Green chilli (chopped)
1 tsp Ginger (chopped)
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Coriander
2 tbsp Fresh Coconut
For Batter:
1cup Pre-soaked Urad Dal
(Split black gram)
5-6 Curry leaves (chopped)
1 Green chilli (chopped)
1 tsp Ginger (chopped)
1/4 tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
1/4 tsp Pepper
Salt to taste
Water
Oil
Method:
Rinse the urad dal 2 to 3 times and soak the urad dal at least for 2 hours.
Add pre-cooked green peas, chilli, ginger, cumin powder, salt, coriander, coconut, and mix well in a large bowl.
Coarsely grind the peas mixture in the blender and keep that aside.
Refrigerate the peas mixture for 10 minutes.
Roll the mixture into gooseberry sized balls.
After 2 hours grind the urad dal into a smooth paste.
Add curry leaves, green chilli, ginger, hing, pepper, salt, little water, and mix well. (The batter should be dropping consistency).
Heat the oil and coat the green peas stuffing with the batter.
Fry the vadas until it's golden & crispy and serve with coriander chutney.
